Black Comedy

Outrageous Hilarity!

No Rules Theatre Company presents this side-splitting comedy where light is dark and dark is light and so characters stumble around blindly in the light! A power-outage causes endless hilarity in this classic farce from acclaimed playwright Sir Peter Shaffer (Amadeus, Equus). Young Sculptor Brindsley Miller’s schemes to impress his fiance’s father and a millionaire art collector are plunged into chaos when a fuse blows inside of his London apartment. Hilarious hijinks ensue in what is widely regarded to be one of the funniest farces of all time. Straight from a smash hit run in DC, this critically acclaimed hit now comes to the Hanesbrands Theatre.

  4. Dan Malks says:

I attended with my teenage son and we had a great time! We particularly enjoyed the physical comedy and great comic timing of the group. Definitely will tell our friends and encourage them to attend!

  5. Richard Rortvedt says:

Physical comedy was entertaining but amateurish British accents were distracting.

  6. Dee Brown says:

Black Comedy was funny before it even began. The usual pre-play announcements about turniing off your cell phone etc. were so clever and really created the mood for what was to come.

  7. I can’t remember the last time I laughed that hard watching a play. Well done, No Rules! I absolutely loved it.

  8. Rhoda Miller says:

This was one of the most entertaining shows we have seen all season. We really laughed right out loud.

  9. Fred says:

Very funny play! The actors did an amazing job of acting as if the play were done in total darkness. Great job!

  10. Kathy Lewis says:

We saw the show yesterday. It was a riot. The actors were fabulous. The set was brilliant. We are so lucky to have such wonderful talent in our city.
